Equity has been a term used in the field of youth services for several years. However, in the wake of George Floyd and so many other public instances of inequities in our country, this term has been elevated to priority. There have been countless workshops, trainings, and roles created to drive equity but have led to mental burnout for youth workers. IYI is ready to hit the refresh button on how equity is addressed.

What is important today are the opportunities for conversation and listening. Facilitated discussions to have the “hard conversations,” practical resources to implement change, and a space to create community with others who believe in equity. IYI seeks to support, empower, and respond to these needs through transformative conversations, critical data, a certification opportunity, and capacity-building resources, aiming every effort at increasing the well-being of all children.
