Friends of POPAI, Justice System Parters (JSP) requests assistance from individuals who work in the community corrections space.

From their email:

“Participation will be a light lift for agencies. We are looking for adult and juvenile departments that have armed staff, unarmed staff, and a mix of armed and unarmed staff. We are asking departments to complete a brief survey and provide de-identified data about the people/youth you serve. Participation will be at the agency level and individual officers will not be asked for information. You can choose to participate in one or both requests. I have attached a flyer with more details as well.

  • Brief Survey: The survey asks about your organization’s size, staffing and caseload characteristics, and training policies and practices.
  • De-identified data: We are interested in obtaining data regarding your department (e.g., number of full-time employees, training hours), staff (e.g., demographics, proportion armed, staff safety), and people/youth on supervision. Ideally, we would like de-identified, individual level data (e.g., demographics, risk level, revocations, arrests) on the youth/people you serve and their associated outcomes for all cases closed between 2018 and 2022.”
