Now Available: New Technical Assistance Opportunity for Probation Agencies on Addressing Staffing Shortages and Promoting Staff Wellness

The Community Supervision Resource Center (CSRC) is pleased to announce that they are now accepting applications for short-term free technical assistance designed to help probation agencies enhance staff recruitment, retention, and well-being. This competitive opportunity is funded by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) and administered by the Center for Effective Public Policy (CEPP).

No agency has yet identified comprehensive and replicable best practice solutions to every recruitment, retention, and workforce-related challenge. The CSRC will learn more about the specific employment and workforce obstacles in each site, and craft and deliver individualized technical assistance tailored to each jurisdiction’s needs accordingly.

Up to five probation agencies will be selected to receive technical assistance. Each agency must participate in a follow-up assessment of the assistance received. Recipient agencies must also commit to sending three representatives to attend a CSRC-sponsored cross-site convening in Fall 2024. The CSRC will cover all travel expenses.

Applications are due by June 28, 2024. Questions about this opportunity can be directed to Jenna Mackey, CEPP Program Manager, at jmackey@cepp.com.
