Angela called the meeting to order at 11:00am

Secretary's Report
Angela asked if everyone had an opportunity to review the August Secretary’s Report. Jack moved to accept the Secretary’s Report. Lindsey seconded. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Treasurer's Report
Andria provided the August Treasurer’s Report. August balances were as follows:
Checking account – $128,545.88
Savings account – $17,709.52
CD Investment – $30,000.00
Bob motioned accept the Treasurer’s Report. Mike seconded. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Andria reported the appeal to the IRS is still pending.
Technology
Karen reviewed important calendar items and named Jobs, Fall Conference, and an article as the top performing pages on POPAI’s website.
Membership
Current Membership is 1,195. The breakdown is as follows:

Karen facilitated a clarification of policy regarding memberships purchased with Fall Conference attendance when the individual cancels. Bob made a motion that membership dues will not be refunded when cancelling a conference registration within the established deadlines. Jenny seconded the motion. All were in favor. Motion carried.
Karen facilitated a discussion about membership dues for Board Members. No motions were made.
Lindsey reported that we sold $2,533.40 in clothing sales as part of the Fall Conference.
Lindsey is looking to a new vendor that will hopefully allow for year around sales of clothing and apparel.
Education
A recap of the Fall Conference was discussed.
Shannon Chambers has been hired as the Training Coordinator. Anthony will work with Shannon and French Lick to pursue a contract for three additional years (2026, 2027 and 2028) at the Resort. Shannon and Anthony will also begin to seek out dates and locations for the 2025 Management Institute.
The IACCAC and POPAI Summer Assembly held in August 2024 was discussed.
Chief's Executive Committee
Greg reported that there were 32 people in attendance at today’s breakfast as part of the Fall Conference. Ideas for upcoming trainings were discussed during the event. Dustin Delong, Chief Probation Officer for Howard County has agreed to co-chair the committee with Greg.
Probation Officer Advisory Board Update
The supervision sub-committee is working on revision to the Intrastate Transfer Rules for adults. Rules regarding juveniles will likely not be addressed as Indiana code already addresses those matters.
A new representative from the Probation Officer Advisory Board will need to be appointed to POPAI. As the new training coordinator for POPAI, the by-laws prevent Shannon was serving on the Executive Board.
Election
There were no contested elections this year. The following have joined the Board

District 4, District 5, and At-Large Member 1 remain vacant. An announcement regarding these open positions will be sent out on September 9, 2024.
Awards and Recognition
Awards were presented at the Annual Meeting yesterday. The winners were as follows:
Cherie Epley, Chief Probation Officer of Vanderburgh County Adult Probation, Founder’s Award
Deborah Kesler, Juvenile Chief Probation Officer from Vigo County Founder’s Award
Stephanie Eddy, Wells County Probation Department, Line Probation Officer of the Year Award
Michelle Murfin, Hamilton County Department of Probation Services, Rookie Probation Officer of the Year Award
Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council (JRAC)
There was a meeting held at the same time as this meeting, thus we were unable to attend.
The next meeting will be held on October 11, 2024.
Bylaws & Strategic Plan Ad Hoc Committee
The annual review of the Strategic Plan is scheduled to take place in April 2025.
New Business
Committee Assignments
Committee Assignments for the upcoming year were made.
Adam McQueen will serve as the chair of the Legislation Committee. Heather Malone has requested to remain on this committee even though she is no longer serving on the Executive Board. Other members include Greg Werich and Shannon Chambers.
Stephanie Cole will serve as chair of the Awards and Recognition Committee. Other members include Andria Geigle, Lindsey Villalpando, Rupert Strawbridge, Albert Arnold, and Mignon Ware.
Greg Werich will continue to serve as chair of the Chief Executive Committee. He will be joined by co-chair, Dustin Delong, and President Angela Morris.
Membership and Marketing will continue to be chaired by Lindsey Villapando. Andria Geigle will no longer serve on this committee. Mignon Ware and Cherie Epley will join this committee.
Anthony Williams will serve as chair of the Education Committee. Chad Boruff and Stephanie Cole will join the committee. Jenny Lampert will no longer serve on this committee.
Jenny Lampert has been appointed unanimously by the Election Committee to serve as Chair for the next year. Other members include those not up for election in 2025 (Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, and At-Large 2).
Adam McQueen will chair the Technology Committee. Andria Geigle will join this committee.
Adam McQueen will continue to serve as the Probation Officer Advisory Board representative.
Meeting Locations
Meetings for 2025 will alternate between Johnson and Hendricks County.
Next Meeting
Next meeting: Wednesday, October 9, 2024 at 10:30am EDT at the Johnson County Probation Department and via Zoom.
