The National Institute of Corrections (NIC) collaborated with the National Association of Probation Executives (NAPE) and the Utah Criminal Justice Center (UCJC) to understand the impact community supervision fees have on agencies across the country.
Many community supervision agencies rely on imposing supervision fees on persons under community supervision to support operating budgets. To further the dialogue and understanding of the effect of supervision fees, NIC supported a study to collect data and information on how states formulate funding mechanisms that use supervision fees to support adult community supervision agency operations.
