The Public Defender’s office of DeKalb County, Indiana, has an opening for a Deputy Public Defender to represent parents in CHINS (child in need of services) cases and to represent persons charged in higher level felony cases, such as child molesting, burglaries, sexual assaults, and robberies.

Applicants must be an attorney in good standing and admitted to the practice of law in the State of Indiana.

Applicants should review the standards for indigent defense services in non- capital cases on the Indiana public defender commission website and submit their qualifications under standard E in regards to murder, level one through four felonies, level five felonies, juvenile delinquency qualifications, and finally children in need of services/termination of parental rights qualifications.
